If you snore, you may have a serious condition known as central sleep apnea. While you sleep if you suffer from a decrease or stoppage in breathing then you may have a problem with the signals which are sent from your brain to your body telling it when to breath.

The most recognizable symptom of central sleep apnea is loud snoring, always sleepy during the day, or you feel like you were restless the whole night. Excessive sleepiness during the daytime will become more noticeable over months and even years in a person. You will find that you are tired while you drive, talk, or working. People who suffer from sleep apnea are prone to get into a car accident due to hypersomnolence or neurocognitive disturbances.

Other symptoms of central sleep apnea include gasping for air in the night, choking, headaches in the morning, fatigue during the day, mood swings, poor concentration, poor judgments, and even weight gain.

The most regular and successful treatment with patients who suffer from central sleep apnea is assisted overnight ventilation. This is where you use other external devices such as a rocking bed or cuirasse. A rocking bed is used to help your diaphragm move up and down with gravity while you sleep. A Cuirasse is a shell the patient wears during night which is connected to a pump which draws your chest out while you sleep.

If you have a snoring problem or want to stop snoring, you should see a physician. You may be suffering from a more serious disease known as sleep apnea.

You may suffer from sleep apnea and think that you’re the only one. Well you’re in luck, you’re not alone. There are many others out there that suffer from sleep apnea as well, maybe even a couple of your close friends and even neighbors. But, living in today’s world you have almost all and any information you want at your fingertips (literally). Here we will discuss some simple tips on how to gain invaluable information on sleep apnea for free.

Searching with Search Engines
First, you can do a simple search for sleep apnea on various websites such as Bing, Yahoo, and Google Search. Search terms like “sleep apnea treatments,” “sleep apnea cures,” or “sleep apnea symptoms”. You will get hundreds of thousands of results. You can gather infinite information on almost any topic you choose. This should help you on your quest to find more information on how to stop snoring or on sleep apnea.

Wikipedia is Your Friend
Second, one of the best free websites out there is Wikipedia.org. Before we discuss anything further, I just want to let you know that you should try and treat sleep apnea if you assume you have it. You should always see your family physician for any treatments, cures, or advice. But, Wikipedia.org is a wonderful place to gather information which is submitted by users. Don’t worry, all of the information is overlooked by moderators and other users of the website. So if anything is bias or wrong in an article it will not get passed or it will get edited out. But this is one of the greatest information sources you can have.

Reach Out
Third, you should always find out what sleep apnea is specifically. You need to understand it before you start researching it. You may find yourself helplessly looking for the answers, and if tips #1 and #2 don’t help try to seek help in finding information. There are many great resources and people out there willing to help anyone.
